# Transformation

Nimai receives initiation into the chanting of  Krishna’s names and transforms into a devotional livewire. He returns to Navadvip and popularises congregational chanting as the prime means of spiritual elevation. To expand the sankirtan movement, Nimai enters the renounced order of  life and becomes known as Sri Krishna Caitanya.
