Next, the crucial need was to systematically document and organise His mission. Why?**</mark>&#x20;

<mark style="color:red;">**• To establish uniform standards and consistency among followers in different geographical locations.**</mark>&#x20;

<mark style="color:red;">**• To preserve the purity and authenticity of the process for generations to come.**</mark>&#x20;

<mark style="color:red;">**• To facilitate wider proliferation of the**</mark><mark style="color:red;">**&#x20;**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**nama-sankirtana**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**&#x20;**</mark><mark style="color:red;">**movement.**</mark>

<mark style="color:red;">**Sri Caitanya gave the Goswamis of Vrindavana specific instructions and guidance in this regard. These**</mark><mark style="color:red;">**&#x20;**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**‘Six fathers of Caitanya’s church**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**’**</mark> [*<mark style="color:red;">**\[48\]**</mark>*](#user-content-fn-1)[^1] <mark style="color:red;">**were headed by Rupa and Sanatana, the direct disciples and confidential associates of Sri Caitanya. They were well-educated and managerially streetwise, but also spiritually deep and spotless in character. They gave up their lofty positions in society to fully devote their time and energy to missionary work. Sri Caitanya thus identified them as the ideal candidates to lead the**</mark><mark style="color:red;">**&#x20;**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**sankirtan**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**&#x20;**</mark><mark style="color:red;">**movement.**</mark>

<mark style="color:red;">**The**</mark><mark style="color:red;">**&#x20;**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**‘process of organisation’**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**&#x20;**</mark><mark style="color:red;">**began on Sri Caitanya’s return journey from Vrindavana to Puri. As He travelled back, He stopped at Prayag and Varanasi, where He spent quality time instructing Rupa and Sanatana respectively. These historic teachings form the foundation of the entire**</mark><mark style="color:red;">**&#x20;**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**bhakti-yoga**</mark>*<mark style="color:red;">**&#x20;**</mark><mark style="color:red;">**process, and delineate the complete science of devotion on the journey towards pure, unbounded, ecstatic love of God.**</mark>
